Year 3 focussed on Bush Tucker in Term 3. To further explore this topic, students researched a type of Bush Tucker using the iPads. Students learnt how to search for information and how to ensure that they used reliable sources for their information. Once the students had completed their research, they created informative green screen videos.
The students learnt about all the different recording tools in our Darcy Road Public School Green Screen Kits and they also discovered how to set up a tripod and iPad mount. They also learnt about peripheral devices as they attached microphones and lights to the iPad to enhance the recording.
In small groups, students recorded themselves talking about their chosen Bush Tucker in front of a piece of green material. Once the students had recorded their videos, they used the DoInk Green Screen app on the iPads to edit the video. They used the Chroma Key function to remove the green background from the video. They then searched the internet for an appropriate image of their chosen Bush Tucker and then inserted this image into the background of their video.
Many students were also able to add music and text elements to their videos. They all did a remarkable job editing their Green Screen Videos.
If you would like to create your own Green Screen video with your children at home, follow this guide created by Mrs Rilatt. This guide was used by the students as they created their own videos using the DoInk Green Screen app.
