"Eize Hu Chacham" is a collection of ethical and moral statements of the Sages taken from "Pirkei Avot" (Ethics of our Fathers). "Pirkei Avot" is a section of the Mishna, one of the fundamental works of the Jewish Oral Law.
This was the third song on which the composers collaborated. According to Westlake, they almost abandoned this movement several times but kept returning to it in the hope that it would come together. One of the difficulties was the number of unrelated fragments that found their way into the movement. Westlake says that the vocalise section from rehearsal marks G to K (CD cue 2:02-2:13) was originally conceived as an instrumental, but Lior decided to sing along.
