In Term 4, Year 9 will hold a bake sale to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Australia, an organisation dedicated to bringing joy and hope to children diagnosed with critical illnesses. Every dollar raised will help grant life-changing wishes—whether it’s meeting a hero, going on a special adventure, or simply experiencing a moment of pure happiness. By supporting this bake sale, students are not just buying a sweet treat—they are helping to create unforgettable memories for children and their families during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
This mental health program aims to equip students with practical strategies to look after their wellbeing and navigate life’s ups and downs. Delivered in a relatable and empowering format, Free the Funk encourages open conversations about mental health, reduces stigma, and helps students build resilience. Through storytelling and shared experiences, students learn that it's okay not to be okay, and that support is always available.
These gender-specific sessions have been thoughtfully tailored to meet the developmental and social-emotional needs of Year 9 students.
Butterfly Effect – For Female Students
This dynamic presentation empowers girls to develop self-awareness and confidence while navigating adolescence. Topics include building healthy friendships, recognising and responding to harmful stereotypes, and making informed, respectful choices. The session fosters a safe space for reflection and encourages students to challenge societal pressures with courage and clarity.
Goodfellas – For Male Students
Designed to engage boys in meaningful discussions about identity, relationships, and respectful behaviour, Goodfellas focuses on helping young men become confident, empathetic, and responsible individuals. The session supports boys in developing emotional intelligence, advocating for themselves and others, and fostering strong, healthy connections with peers.
The Year 9 Day Camp will be held at The Tops Conference Centre during Term 3 and is designed to strengthen connections within the cohort. Through a range of team-building activities, outdoor challenges, and shared experiences in a supportive environment, students will have the opportunity to deepen friendships, develop collaboration skills, and foster a stronger sense of community. This day camp is an important part of our wellbeing program, helping students grow in confidence, resilience, and mutual respect as they navigate their high school journey together.
In Term 4, students will enjoy a day at Luna Park as an opportunity to strengthen connections within the cohort and celebrate the hard work and positive contributions they have made throughout the year. This excursion not only provides a fun and memorable experience but also recognises the effort, resilience, and growth students have shown both in and outside the classroom. By coming together in a relaxed and enjoyable setting, students will further develop their sense of belonging and shared identity as a year group.
In order to qualify for the Year 7 Rewards Day, students have to ensure they do not have any of the following in 2025:
