Friendly Schools is an evidence-based, whole-school initiative that promotes social and emotional wellbeing while addressing bullying prevention. Aligned with Cronulla High School’s Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework, RISE — which stands for Respect, Integrity, Safety and Effort — the program reinforces positive student behaviour across all areas of learning.
This comprehensive approach supports the development of students’ social and emotional skills, contributing to a reduction in issues such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, stress, bullying and socially aggressive behaviours. By fostering a respectful and inclusive school environment, the program plays a vital role in enhancing student wellbeing and engagement.
Students participate in one Friendly Schools lesson per term, with the content delivered by their Year Adviser and Assistant Year Adviser.

Senior Study Club runs every Monday afternoon from 3:10 until 4:30pm in M Block. Teachers from various faculties attend every week to assist Year 11 and 12 students with revising course work, completing homework or working on further development of study skills
At Cronulla High School we offer a mentor program to Year 12 students. This involves the students being paired with a teacher at the schools.
This program assists students in seeking extra study help by having someone they can talk to on a regular basis.
We also have a dedicated teacher, Mr Cherry, who offers services such as one-on-one meetings, study skills sessions and moivational talks to stduents in Year 12. This has proven to be a valued point of difference at Cronulla High School where students have expressed graritude for his assistance in their HSC journey.
