In March, Year 11 students will organise, lead and participate in the World’s Greatest Shave to support the Leukaemia Foundation. This important event continues a proud tradition at Cronulla High School, where students have previously shown remarkable generosity and courage.
In 2025, six students — Bailey J, Eleftheria P and Mitchell C — shaved their heads, while Brooke G, Paisley G and Annabelle N (Year 9) cut and donated their hair. Together, they raised over $8000, with Eleftheria alone contributing more than $4000. Additional support from Year 11 students, through raffle ticket sales, bake stalls and coloured hair spraying, helped push the total donation to over $9000.
Each year’s participants will build on that incredible legacy, continuing to promote the Culture of Kindness at Cronulla High School and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by blood cancer.
In Term 1, all of Year 11 participate in the Elevate Study Skills program. Year 11 complete 2 Elevate seminars: Time Management and Study Sensei. At these sessions they develop skills in the following areas:
Prioritising tasks
Daily and weekly planning
Creating a study schedule
Overcoming procrastination
Understanding the syllabus
Note taking
The feedback from the students after the seminars is always overwhelmingly positive, with students noting how well it complements their start to senior schooling.
In Week 6 of Term 3, Year 11 will participate in the U Turn The Wheel program, supported by the Sutherland Shire Council, working closely with Council's Road Safety Officer. Year 11 will attend presentations by: NSW Ambulance, Youthsafe, local Highway Patrol Officers, 2Connect Youth & Community, and LTrent Driving School. Some of the discussions and topics covered on the day include:

Consequences of speeding
Drink/drug driving
Buying a safe car
The Graduated Licensing Scheme
Safe passenger behaviour
Smarter decision making

Beach volleyball
The Life Ready program is a mandatory 25-hour course designed to prepare and support senior students as they encounter situations related to health and safety – as they become more independent and gain more responsibilities.
Cronulla High School Year 11 students will be fortunate enough to complete this program by participating in a 3 day camp In Term 3 at the Sydney Academy of Sport, Narrabeen.
The students will participate in a range of camp activities while completing the program in a way that fosters team-work, positive relationships across the cohort and personal development and preparation for the adult world beyond school.
