Ours to Share, 2022 Connections Showcase

King Park Public School

King Park Public School is situated in Wakeley in Western Sydney on traditional Darug land.

What I think we should do with the playground

The students from King Park Public School have been making a garden to grow plants as part of a science unit.

With the knowledge and experience they have in changing environments for the better, the students used a photograph to design solutions for the problem of the back corner of the oval that has been flooded for most of the year.

To create What I think we should do with the playground, students collected items from their class and the surrounding environment to illustrate their solutions, from rock pools and gardens to a new toy-filled area with pink bunnies.

Red ribbon, green and red pipe cleaner, sticks, leaves and blue material glued on top of a black and white image of an oval.
Small grey rocks, blue cellophane and blue string glued on top of a black and white image of an oval.
A square of red cellophane with a red stick, small green circles, silver leaves, purple shells and gold flowers glued on top of it. This piece of decorated red cellophane is glued on top of the lower half of a black and white image of an oval.
