Staff Development Day 1 - Tuesday 30th January
Paticipants: Teaching & SASS Staff
Venue: MPC
Welcome back to all staff - this brief session provides an opportunity to introduce new members of staff as well as providing updated operational details for weeks 1 and 2.
Participants: Teaching & SASS Staff
Venue: MPC
Presenter: Yanna Fitsakis (guest speaker)
Rationale
We have engaged the services of the DoE's Delivery Support Team to deliver training related to managing student behaviour. Yanna Fitsakis will be delivering the Understanding Behaviour workshop which also accompanies the online professional learning available through the Behaviour Strategy toolkit.
This workshop is designed to provide an overview of the importance of teaching staff to understand student behaviour. During this session, we will explore the underlying reasons and factors that influence behaviour, how to respond to behaviour escalation and strategies to assist students with complex and challenging behaviours across a continuum. Strategies to ensure the wellbeing of all students, staff and visitors within our schools will also be discussed. All staff, including non-teaching staff, need to be aware of a student’s behaviour support plan and may be involved in contributing to behaviour support planning and implementation of strategies.

The best place to check your Mandatory Training Compliance status is through your 'Q+' tile in your DET Portal. If you haven't added the 'Q+' tile yet, then please be sure to do so. Take a moment to check out the video I have recorded which provides some information to you about ensuring that we as a school are fully compliant for the upcoming audit.

Cyber-attacks are often initiated via a phishing email, but can also take the form of social engineering, vishing, tailgating and smishing. These threats can be safely managed if we all know what they look like and how to report them. This mandatory refresher training requires you to refresh your knowledge and improve your cyber hygiene
