As you may be aware, in Term 2 of 2024 our school is being audited. Part of the auditing process will be to examine our compliance in Mandatory Training. As a result, our aim is for all staff to be compliant in all areas of Mandatory Training by the end of Week 1, Term 1. Sufficient time needs to be provided to staff for this to occur. As such, we are providing time for staff to work through mandatory training modules on our last SDD of the year as well as days 1 and 2 next year.
Please note that we are aware that in some cases, staff may have certificates that expire mid-way through the year. This is problematic as in some cases it may mean that some staff may not be certified at certain points in the year. To avoid this, our aim is to reset all staff compliance dates for the start of term 1.
Time: 9 - 9.30 am
Venue: Faculty Staffrooms
Format: Online Course - MyPL
Facilitators: Head Teachers
Rationale: The focus of the 2024 training is to provide a general refresher on recognising and responding to suspected risk of harm across a range of risk of harm categories. This is in response to an increase in overall reports to the Department of Education's Child Wellbeing Unit. It also clarifies staff obligations under the reportable conduct scheme in New South Wales to ensure appropriate, caring and supportive relationships between adults (working in schools) and students.

Format: Online Professional Reading
Facilitators: Suellen Lawrence & Head Teachers
Rationale: Suellen will be providing a brief update regarding the move to Digital PDPs in 2024. The Digital PDP is a simple and intuitive online platform to record and securely store your performance and development plan.
The performance and development process has not changed. The Digital PDP reduces paperwork and workload so you can spend more time learning, collaborating, and reflecting.
Following Suellen's breif staff presentation, staff will then move back faculty staffrooms to continue learning about the move to Digital PDPs. This session has been provided to enable you to learn about the new process and how it will take place. Information relating to the Digital PDP can be found using the link below:
https://education.nsw.gov.au/inside-the-department/human-resources/performance/performance-tools/digital-pdp#Digital2
Staff can access their Digital PDP through the Q+ portal. Please note that the term 'supervisor' relates to your Head Teacher.
Accredited teachers can record 30 minutes of elective professional development for this activity.
