Every young person in a secondary school in East Lothian has access to a personal device. In order to receive this device, they must sign up to a Learner Promise, which outlines their responsibilitiies in the programme.
A poster summarising the Learning Promise is here: Rosehill High School Learner Promise
All Rosehill pupils are expected to bring their Chromebook to school fully charged each day. In order to protect the devices, Rosehill has gifted a 'badged' Chromebook sleeve to every young person.
Where damage is done to devices and identified pupils are accountable, we will seek to recoup the cost of repairs.
Schools do not have 'spare' Chromebooks and young people presenting without theirs may be unable to access the planned work of the class.
Feedback from our young people indicates that they are very appreciative of their devices and that the move to 1:1 Chromebooks has helped them to be more organised with their learning, especially in the senior phase.
Chromebooks have multiple accessibility features that can support young people with ASN. If your young person needs support with accessing these, you can contact our Support for Learning team who would be happy to help.
