"Your story starts here and ends Workforce Ready"
Message from the Director
Amber-Renee Boyd
I want to ensure that I am giving everyone updates about our progress and working towards ensuring transparency to our stakeholders. This week our enrollment is at 206 and our goal and capacity is 300. We are 68% to the capacity rate and we want to continue to build on this progress. We will be recruiting from our 9th grade and 10th grade pool of student this fall and working towards creating a scheduling system that works for our high schools and student population.
We have a new partner that I think the students are enjoying having around and that is the EBR IT Department eSports team. They have taken up weekly space during lunch at CTEC. Students get to participate and observe the smackdown during eSport events.
This weekend kicks off the CTEC October Saturdays and ends with CTEC's Open House on Oct. 27th from 4-7.
We also had a productive meeting with our Board of Directors this week to outline our next steps forward, which include adding Culinary and Media Arts to our CTEC course catalog.
Remember, your story starts here...and ends Workforce Ready! - Join CTEC
CTEC is a specialized program for high school students in the Capital region. Students get hands-on training in a small group environment by instructors who are credentialed and have worked in their craft area.
Students from our high schools can apply to attend CTEC for ½ day programming that allows them to take specialized courses, many of which are dual enrolled courses with BRCC.
By still attending their home school, students have the flexibility of a specialized college type experience but also access to high school courses, extracurricular activities, and other high school experiences.
CTEC offers the programs listed below and details about the programs can be found on this page. EBR CTEC - Our Programs (google.com)
