WHAT IS A
NURSING ASSISTANT & PRE-LPN
Nursing Assistant and LPN programs train students to provide patient care in a healthcare setting. Nursing assistants provide basic care and assistance to patients under the supervision of registered nurses, while LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurses) provide more advanced patient care, such as administering medication, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures, under the supervision of registered nurses or doctors. Both roles play an important part in the healthcare system by supporting patients and helping to ensure they receive appropriate care.

CREDENTIALS EARNED
Certified Nursing Assistant
The Nursing Assistant curriculum typically includes both classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience, covering topics such as patient care, infection control, anatomy and physiology, and communication skills.
Pre-LPN
The LPN curriculum typically involves classroom instruction and clinical training, covering topics such as pharmacology, nursing ethics, human anatomy and physiology, patient care, and medical terminology.
BRCC Dual Enrollment
Baton Rouge Community College allows high school students to take college-level courses while still in high school, earning both high school and college credit.
CPR Certification
The CPR certification trains students on how to perform CPR correctly, as well as other life-saving techniques.
