"Your story starts here and ends WORKFORCE READY"
Message from the Director
Amber-Renee Boyd
Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs offer students hands-on training and real-world experience in a variety of career fields. CTE programs are designed to prepare students for the workforce or for further education, such as a college or technical school. There has been a growing recognition of the importance of CTE programs in preparing students for high-demand, high-wage careers. As a result, there have been several developments in this field, such as:
Increased funding: The federal government has increased funding for CTE programs, providing more resources for schools and colleges to expand their offerings and improve their facilities.
Emphasis on industry partnerships: Many CTE programs are partnering with local businesses and industry leaders to provide students with real-world experience and help them develop the skills they need to succeed in their chosen careers.
Overall, CTE programs continue to play an important role in preparing students for the workforce and helping them achieve their career goals. With ongoing developments and improvements in this field, students can expect to have even more opportunities to develop the skills and experience they need to succeed in today's job market.

CTEC is a specialized program for high school students in the Capital region. Students get hands-on training in a small group environment by instructors who are credentialed and have worked in their craft area.
Students from our high schools can apply to attend CTEC for ½ day progamming that allows them to take specialized courses, many of which are dual enrollment courses with BRCC.
By still attending their home school, students have the flexibility of a specialized college type experience but also access to high school courses, extracurricular activities, and other high school experiences.
