San Marco 760, Venezia

It is our pleasure that Ambassador Hsieh of the Taipei Representative Office in Rome will host the EATS conference dinner (19:30, 2nd March 2017).

There will be two menus served during the evening. The restaurant needs to know the precise numbers for each option in advance. Therefore, we would like to ask everyone who is attending the conference dinner to choose his/her preference via this online form by 20 February 2017.

Fish Menu:

"Risotto" with seafood

Sea bass in potato crust with vegetables

Tiramisù

Vegetarian Menu:

"Tagliatelle" with vegetables

Omelette with mushrooms

Tiramisù

Both menus include an aperitif, 1/3 liter of wine (or beer), water, coffee/tea.

In the same online form you will also find a choice about your lunch on Saturday 4th March. EATS has organized a buffet lunch at the conference venue for all three days of the conference, but since many of you have to leave by Saturday morning, we need to know exactly how many people are planning to stay for lunch that day. This will allow us to make appropriate arrangements.

Post-conference optional tours (organized by the local organizer)

1) Tour of the area of Dorsoduro, including a visit to the renowned Frari church (Chiesa dei Frari) and Confraternity of St. Roch (Scuola di San Rocco)

A guided walk through one of the most fascinating areas of Venice. The tour includes a visit to the beautiful Frari Church, a sublime example of gothic art in Venice. The Frari Church is one of the largest religious buildings in the city, second only to St. Mark's Basilica (Basilica di San Marco), as well as a pivotal axis for the Order of Friars Minor in Italy. Because of the numerous artistic masterpieces it accommodates, the Frari Church is considered to be one of the most outstanding religious buildings in Venice. In particular, it holds three major works of art, two famous paintings by Titian and a triptych by Giovanni Bellini. In the Frari Church are buried some of the most influential people in Venetian history, including Titian, the most notable member of the 16th century Venetian school of painting, and Claudio Monteverdi, famous composer of the 17th century. The tour also includes a visit to the unparalleled Confraternity of St.Roch (Scuola Grande di San Rocco), which holds masterpieces by renowned artists like Giorgione, Titian, Giambattista Tiepolo, Francesco Pianta and Jacopo Robusti (best known as Tintoretto).

It is said that the fishermen painted their houses with such vibrant colors in order to recognize their own house when sailing back home.
