Freshmen & New Student Guide
General Information and Guidelines for New Students and Freshmen
All students are expected to exhibit good behavior and act in accordance with school and district policy. Lack of awareness does not excuse a violation of school rules.
Bullying or any type of harassment is not tolerated.
Review the course syllabus provided by the teacher of each course. Important information will be explained in the syllabus.
Please stay to the right when traveling down hallways and do not stop and block while at your locker; proper hallway etiquette is a safety measure.
Always bring books, Chromebooks/chargers, writing utensils, and other required materials to class
Students are only allowed six minutes passage time between classes. You may need to seek out alternate paths between classes if you find yourself running out of time! The courtyards are very convenient shortcuts.
Students are expected to make up all work missed when they are absent from class, whether the absence is due to illness, extra curricular activities, suspensions or field trips. It is the student's responsibility to do so, whether or not they are reminded by the teacher.
Studies show that student attendance is directly linked to academic success. Strive to be here and be here on time!

In the cafeteria, students are expected to clean up the areas where they sat and ate their lunches before leaving for their next class. Trays, plates, and eating utensils must be returned properly to the designated areas.
Phone calls, recordings, and pictures are not allowed in the building during school hours (7:23 am - 2:25 pm). The use of cellphones, headphones, and earbuds are allowed in study halls, lunch, and in classrooms when permitted by teachers. Students are permitted to check messages and social media posts during passing time but headphones and earbuds are not permitted in the hallways due to safety concerns.
