Discipline Policy
The Emmaus High School Discipline Code is a written document of possible student violations and the consequences of those violations, based upon the student's responsibility to their school community. Students share with the school community the responsibility for developing a school climate that is conducive to good learning.
Definition of Consequences
Loss of Student Privileges
Student Privileges (pass, library, parking, late arrival, early dismissal) are granted to eligible students on the basis of parent permission and the student's maintenance of satisfactory standards of scholarship, citizenship, and attendance. Parents may rescind student privileges at any time, an the administration will rescind privileges for failure on the student's part to meet prescribed standards.
After School Detention (ASD)
These are assigned by administration and are held in room 225 from 2:35 pm to 3:05 pm, Monday through Friday. Lateness to detention will not be tolerated.
Wednesday Extended Detention (WED)
These are assigned by the administration and are held in the North Wing on Wednesdays from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm at the latest. Lateness to detention will not be tolerated.
In-School Suspension (ISS)
Students assigned to In-School Suspension report to the ISS room as their homeroom, and remain there for a full day. Students must come prepared with books, lunch, paper, pencils, pens, etc. Students are assigned here to do work.
Out-of-School Suspension (OSS)
- The student is to remain home under the supervision of a parent or guardian. They are not to attend any school functions during the suspension, nor set foot on school property. Failure to abide by these rules may result in the student being cited for defiant trespassing. A parent can call and pick up homework in the Counseling Suite.
