Use the Skimmer Car Layout to help you create the Skimmer Car.
Step 1: Using the Skimmer Car layout sheet, ruler, square, and finely sharpened pencil carefully draw the main body, air scoop, and two fins of your skimmer onto your chosen material. Take your time and be accurate! Use the Videos below!

Having trouble?
If you're finding it tricky to draw the parts on your file folder, join the small group help session at the back table during class. Bring your materials with you so we can work together!"
Step 2 : Once all parts have been drawn and checked, carefully cut out your skimmer parts. Cut only on the solid lines. The dotted lines are where you will score and fold. Watch the video if you need clarification.
Step 3: Put It All Together!
Fold the dotted lines on the air scoop and main body at 90-degree angles using your ruler.
Attach the fins to the main body's ½-inch flap, with the angled edge facing forward. Then, angle the main body and tape it to the fins (check the video!).
Glue or tape the air scoop flaps to the inside of the main body, lining up the narrow end with the front (see the video!).
Visual Help
Look at the skimmer models if you need to see how the parts connect.
Decorate your skimmer and make sure your name is visible!
