How to cease a Payee.

Once the Employer/Employee relationship ends, Payees should be ceased and notification sent to the ATO. 

NO final payment is required,

• STEP 1 - Enter the Cessation Date and Reason for the Payee.

• STEP 2 - Lodge an STP Update to notify the ATO of this change.

A final payment is required,

If the Payee has passed away, the final pay run cannot be processed until the Beneficiary Details have been received and entered within the Payee Master File.

Customers using a Commercial Plan,

• STEP 1 - Commence a Regular or an Out Of Cycle Pay Run.

• STEP 2 - Include the Payee within the Pay Run.

• STEP 3 - Compose the Payees' Pay Details, including all Termination payments required.

• STEP 4 - Proceed with the remaining steps per How do I process a Single Touch Payroll Pay Run?

Customers using the FREEPAY Plan,

• STEP 1 - Enter the Cessation Date and Reason for the Payee.

• STEP 2 - Commence a Regular or an Out Of Cycle Pay Run.

• STEP 3 - Include the Payee within the Pay Run.

• STEP 4 - Compose the Payees' Pay Details, including all Termination payments required.
