This particular CAS strand focuses on the students exploring and discovering new areas of interests. They are encouraged to do so by engaging in creative endeavours and broadening their scope of thinking from different perspectives. This strand can be achieved by participating in activities like culinary arts, painting, performing arts, writing, filming ect. It helps them achieve outcomes like identifying their own strengths and weaknesses, it also teaches them to be persistent in their current pursuits. Creativity is expected from their imagination, passion towards the project.
This aspect challenges the student’s physical as well as mental fitness. It helps to achieve their maximum potential and pushes them to work harder and work past their comfort zones. It motivates the student to prioritise their physical well being and keeps them on their toes. This strand inculcates thrilling experiences like trekking up a mountain to visit a fort, try out new sports,individual as well as team, and maintain your commitment towards them. The students are led to a lifelong healthy lifestyle.
The strands promote students to understand their capacity of contributing to the community and society we live in. Spending a day at an old age home, helping out in rural schools or donating materials to NGOs, meaningful activities like these provoke a sense of empathy as well as a caring nature. Service activities not only provide benefits and comfort to another individual but also the environment and community. The students tend to gain social skills in real life situations. These activities evoke their problem solving skills, take in charge attitude as well as responsibility. Global significance of these projects are also explored, indulging their international mindedness.
