Recently, IBDP students had the opportunity to go on a CAS trip to Karjat, and it was an eye-opening and fulfilling experience. They also had adventure activities during the trip and activities like Rock climbing tested their strength and endurance as they conquered towering cliffs while rope walking, an activity that challenged balance and concentration tested their mental and physical limits along with adventurous experience. They also visited an old age home as part of a social service initiative.
This experience was both heartwarming and thought-provoking as they interacted with elderly residents who had been abandoned or neglected by their families. It was heartbreaking to witness elderly individuals feeling lonely and isolated, longing for companionship and affection. However, they also witnessed their unwavering resilience and the joy they exuded when someone showed them care, attention, and love. It was a reminder of the importance of human connection and the impact small acts of kindness can have.
As the students engaged in conversations with the elderly residents with various creative activities prepared by our class, they also realized the immense wisdom and life experiences they possessed. The old age home residents shared their stories, imparted valuable advice, and expressed gratitude for the simple joys in life. It allowed the students to reflect on how often they overlook the wisdom and contributions of the elderly in society. Overall, the trip helped the students gain a broader perspective of the world around them.

Testimony
“The trip included various activities, we had loads of fun during the trip from preparing for the old age home visit weeks before the trip and to actually presenting dances and hosting a fun session with them was my favorite part of the trip as it was truly a blessing to be able to talk with them. it was heart aching to see them far away from their homes but I assume they were equally happy at the old age home because they indulge in various activities throughout the day.
The trip also provided us with opportunities to make new friends as we had a number of team building games. Overall the trip has been fascinating and thrilling at the same time, thanks to the rigorous adventurous activities like rappelling and rope walking.”
