Students will learn what makes a successful social media advert, then demonstrate their understanding by producing a post in Adobe Express to advertise a ctional product of their own creation.
Directions
Explore. Choose a product type (e.g., soda, shampoo, or fast food) and research examples of social media advertisements for products in that category. Make note of any patterns you notice in the art direction (the layout, imagery, text formatting, hierarchy of information, and colors) used in these kinds of ads.
Think. Imagine how you could use the design principles you’ve identied to devise and market your own product in the category you’ve chosen.
Consider:
Who is the product for? How does that effect your marketing strategy?
What color scheme / imagery will you use to appeal to your audience?
What do you want your audience to do after they see your ad?
Create.
Start by searching for an image that best represents your product, or create one yourself, then apply your chosen color palette. You should also make sure to write a snappy tagline to support your brand’s message.
