Launch Adobe Photoshop. Create a new file that is letter sized
Go to File→Place Embedded. Choose the photo you want to use for your magazine cover. Resize and move your photo to fill the entire canvas.
Select your subject to use a different background. You can do this by using your selection tools, or a layer mask
You can modify the appearance of your background by going to Image→Adjustments.
To soften the edges of the cutout even more, click on the cutout’s layer in the Layers panel. Use the Eraser to zoom in and soften up the edges. To change the size and hardness of the brush, right click anywhere on the canvas.
Play around with more modifications to enhance your magazine cover.
Add a title to your magazine with the Text tool. Go to Window→Character to open settings for text. Use the Character window to make adjustments. You can even move the text behind the subject’s layer to play with perspective.
