Digital Essentials
Digital Essentials is an engaging, hands-on introduction to the foundational skills students need to thrive in today’s digital world. This course covers core concepts in technology use, including responsible digital citizenship, Google Workspace tools (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drive, etc.), file management and organization, and common file types and formats. Students will explore how technology impacts communication, productivity, and collaboration both in school and beyond. Through interactive projects, real-world applications, and creative challenges, students will build confidence and independence using digital tools, preparing them for high school and beyond.
Topics Include:
Navigating digital devices and operating systems
Understanding and organizing file types (.docx, .pdf, .jpg, etc.)
Google Workspace skills (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drive)
Cloud storage and digital organization
Online safety and digital citizenship
Introduction to multimedia tools and presentations
Basic troubleshooting and tech vocabulary
