Program Description
The Innovation Career Pathways program is part of Massachusetts High Quality College and Career Pathways Initiative. The program was developed to help expand career field exploration through technical education at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. Through a combination of academic coursework, technical skills training and experiential education, students will graduate with the knowledge and skills to pursue a meaningful career upon the completion of postsecondary education and training.
DYRHS has worked with many organizations and businesses to develop a program that meets the needs and interests of students as well as future labor market demands. We are proud partners with:

PROGRAM COMPONENTS
Students who are admitted to this Innovation Career Pathway will complete college and career advising, 2 or more technical classes, 2 or more college level courses and an internship/capstone project.
Career And Academic Planning:
Provides student support, college and career planning, industry connections, technology knowledge and skills, and employability skills
2 or more Technical Classes (from the Career Pathway Offerings):
Biotechnology
Infectious disease
Honors Health Science
2 Courses that qualify as College Level:
AP or Dual Enrollment classes
100-hour Paid Internships or Capstone Project:
Internship or Capstone Project (junior or senior year)
Students receives Work-Based Learning credit on his/her transcript
Program Commitment:
Program participation is open to any student enrolled at DYRHS
Preference will be given to 8th graders during the application period
9th grade students will have the opportunity to participate if slots are available
Program Capacity:
Our current yearly capacity is 10 students per year of graduation
Enrollment is allocated equitably
Program wait-lists will be maintained if applications exceed enrollment capacity
Application Process:
Students will have an enrollment opportunity during 9th and 10th grade; as space permits
Current 9th graders are given preference, but open to 10th graders as well
Attend an informational meeting
Must complete Application Google Form
If there are more qualified applicants than there are slots available, students will be admitted via a lottery
Students will be notified of acceptance in writing by the IP Grant Committee and will sign a commitment letter
Students who are not accepted will be encouraged to re-apply the following year; as space permits
