The following rules and regulations shall apply to all competitions organized under the auspices of the DVK LCA unless otherwise specified in the respective event guidelines.
Eligibility and Participation
● All the Students of DVK are eligible to participate in competitions conducted during the academic year.
● Participants shall represent only their officially allotted house.
● Participants may participate only in events for which they have been duly registered.
● Registration shall be completed within the prescribed deadline announced by the organizing committee.
● Only officially registered participants shall be permitted to compete.
● House Leaders shall be responsible for submitting participant details and competition entries within the stipulated time.
● Participants shall carry their valid identity credentials whenever required by the organizers.
● There should be at least 4 participants for a competition, else the event will be cancelled.
Submission of Entries
● All entries shall be submitted through the prescribed platform specified for each competition.
● Participants shall strictly adhere to the prescribed submission format, naming conventions, and instructions provided by the organizers.
● Entries submitted through unauthorized platforms or in incorrect formats may be rejected.
● Participants shall ensure that all required credentials and information are accurately provided.
● Participants are advised to submit their entries well before the deadline.
● The organizing committee shall not be responsible for delays caused by internet connectivity issues, device malfunctions, software failures, or technical difficulties on the part of the participant.
● Late submissions shall not be accepted under any circumstances.
● Failure to submit an entry before the prescribed deadline shall result in disqualification from the competition.
Attendance and Reporting
● Participants shall report to the venue at least 15 minutes before the commencement of the competition.
● Failure to report on time may result in forfeiture of participation.
● Participants shall remain available until the completion of the event and announcement of results unless otherwise permitted by the organizers.
● Teams shall ensure that all members are present and prepared before the commencement of the event.
Discipline and Conduct
● Participants shall maintain discipline, decorum, and mutual respect throughout all competitions.
● Participants shall comply with the instructions of the organizing committee, event coordinators, judges, referees, and officials.
● Any form of misconduct, indiscipline, misrepresentation, impersonation, disruption, or inappropriate behaviour shall invite disciplinary action.
● Participants shall promote healthy competition, teamwork, sportsmanship, and Christian values at all times.
● Respect for fellow participants, organizers, judges, volunteers, and support staff shall be maintained throughout the event.
● Any participant found damaging property or disrupting the smooth conduct of an event may be disqualified.
Originality and Fair Play
● All entries, performances, presentations, and submissions shall be the original work of the participant or team unless otherwise specified.
● Plagiarism, copying, fabrication, impersonation, or any form of academic or creative dishonesty shall result in immediate disqualification.
● Participants shall respect copyright laws and intellectual property rights.
● Artificial Intelligence tools, internet resources, or external assistance may only be used where explicitly permitted in the event guidelines.
● Any attempt to gain an unfair advantage shall be treated as malpractice.
Stage Practice and Rehearsals
● Practice on the JBC/PKM Auditorium stage for any competition shall be permitted only on the day preceding the competition.
● All rehearsals shall be conducted only in the presence of designated DVK LCA representatives.
● Participants and teams shall strictly adhere to the rehearsal schedule communicated by the organizing committee.
● No participant or team shall use the auditorium stage for practice without prior approval from DVK LCA.
● Participants shall handle stage facilities, sound systems, lighting equipment, and other infrastructure with care and responsibility.
● The organizing committee reserves the right to regulate rehearsal time to ensure equal opportunity for all participating houses.
Disqualification
A participant or team shall be liable for disqualification if found guilty of:
● Violation of competition rules and regulations.
● Submission of plagiarized, copied, fabricated, or unauthorized content.
● Failure to comply with the prescribed submission format or platform.
● Submission of entries after the specified deadline.
● Providing false information or incorrect credentials.
● Impersonation or participation on behalf of another person.
● Use of prohibited materials, devices, applications, or external assistance.
● Displaying offensive, vulgar, discriminatory, political, defamatory, or inappropriate content.
● Engaging in misconduct, cheating, or unfair practices.
● Failure to comply with instructions issued by the organizing committee.
Participation Points
● Participation points shall be awarded only to participants or teams who successfully complete the competition in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations.
● Disqualified participants or teams shall not be eligible for participation points under any circumstances.
● Participation points may be withheld if the participant fails to satisfy the minimum requirements of the competition.
● House points shall be awarded according to the approved DVK LCA points system.
Judging and Evaluation
● All competitions shall be evaluated according to the prescribed judging criteria announced for the respective event.
● The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
● Participants shall not attempt to influence judges or interfere with the evaluation process.
● The marks awarded by the judges shall not ordinarily be subject to review.
● Any attempt to influence the judging process shall result in disciplinary action.
Appeals and Complaints
● Any participant, team, or house wishing to raise an objection regarding the conduct of an event or the announced results shall submit a written complaint to the Director, DVK LCA.
● The complaint shall clearly state the nature of the grievance and the grounds for the appeal.
● All complaints shall be submitted through the respective House Leader or Team Leader.
● The written complaint must be submitted within one hour of the official announcement of the results.
● Complaints submitted after the stipulated time shall not be entertained.
● Anonymous, verbal, telephone, or informal complaints shall not be considered.
● The Director, DVK LCA, in consultation with the organizing committee, shall examine the matter and communicate the final decision.
● The decision of the Director, DVK LCA and the organizing committee shall be final and binding.
Safety and Responsibility
● Participants shall ensure that their activities do not endanger themselves or others.
● The use of hazardous materials, weapons, explosives, chemicals, or unsafe equipment shall be prohibited unless specifically authorized.
● Participants shall be responsible for their personal belongings and equipment.
● The organizing committee reserves the right to stop any activity that poses a safety risk.
● Participants shall immediately report accidents, injuries, or safety concerns to the event coordinators.
House Spirit and Sportsmanship
● Participants are encouraged to uphold the dignity and reputation of their respective houses.
● Healthy competition shall be promoted without hostility or disrespect towards other houses.
● Cooperation, leadership, teamwork, and mutual support shall be valued throughout all competitions.
● Winning and losing shall be accepted gracefully in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
Final Authority
● DVK LCA reserves the right to interpret, amend, modify, or enforce these rules whenever necessary for the smooth conduct of competitions.
● The organizing committee reserves the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule, or modify any competition if circumstances so require.
● Participation in any DVK LCA competition shall be deemed as acceptance of all rules, regulations, and decisions of the organizing committee.
Important Reminders
● Participants shall strictly adhere to the prescribed deadlines, submission platforms, file formats, and competition guidelines.
● Entries submitted after the deadline shall not be accepted.
● Disqualified participants or teams shall not be awarded participation points.
● Written complaints regarding results shall be submitted to the Director, DVK LCA within one hour of the official declaration of results.
● Practice on the JBC Auditorium stage shall be permitted only on the day preceding the competition and only in the presence of DVK LCA representatives.
● The decision of the judges, organizing committee, and Director, DVK LCA shall be final and binding in all matters relating to the competitions.
