Camp Healing Heart and Kourage Kids Camp are for children and teens ages 5 through 17 processing the death of a loved one or friend. The goal of both one-day camps is to provide a safe and caring environment for campers to express their grief, emotion, fear and concerns while learning coping skills that will help them in adulthood. Many camp volunteers are counselors who also have experienced grief. As they support campers with therapeutic sessions and fun activities, the volunteers also may experience healing.

Stephen Turban, a Harvard/McKinsey alum and one of the co-founders of Ladder Internships, a selective start-up internship program for talented high school students. Ladder Internships is a selective start-up internship program for high school students, founded and run by Harvard graduate students. In the program, students work 1-1 with supervisors from top start-ups to work on real-world projects in a real start-up environment. Our companies and supervisors come from Y Combinator, Harvard iLabs, Wharton, Google, Microsoft, and McKinsey & Company. No prior working experience is required. LUX Summer Institute for Youth Leadership a 4-day workshop for students grades 9-12 where participants will explore spirituality, identity and community through a unique and meaningful lens, including the world of comic books. Led by Monmouth’s chaplain, the Rev. Dr. John Huxtable, the four-day program encourages participants to reflect on their personal worth and their connection to creation and the Divine.

Pathways to Saluki Medicine - Due March 1st-- Pathways to Saluki Medicine is a medical based summer camp hosted by the Physiology Department at SIU school of medicine. It is a 5-day overnight camp in June for any high school student interested in the medical field or biomedical science. Premier Girls State brings together young women from the state of Illinois for a week-long program where they are provided training in city, county and state government. The participants have a chance to run for office, vote, campaign and write legislation for the organization. Guest speakers in the political arena and motivational speakers are invited to encourage young women to become more confident and provide them with a solid foundation of leadership and management as they transition into adult life. https://www.alaigs.org/
American Legion Illinois Premier Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for high school students. It is a participatory program in which students learn by doing and become part of the operation of city, county, and state governments.
