Secretariat

Our secretariat is responsible for running the entire conference. From the planning stage to overseeing the staff members and students, the secretariat is responsible for organizing anything d.mun!

Josie Kliemen

Secretary General

Josie Klieman is a Senior at Design Tech High School, and has been participating in MUN for four years, this year she is the President of the club. She really enjoys the public speaking aspect of MUN, in addition to working with others and making compromises. She also enjoys researching new topics and learning more about international relations. Josie hopes to learn more about the committees topics and create exciting crisis committees. She hopes that students attending D.MUN feel engaged and excited to do more model UN in the future. In her free time Josie enjoys dancing and has been doing it her entire life and is an active part of a dance team outside of school. She loves going to the beach and being in nature in general.

Uri Eitan

Under-Secretary General

Uri Eitan is a Senior at Design Tech High School. He has been on the Model UN team since his Freshman year and has participated in leadership being the Co-Director of Conference with Ariana. There are many things about MUN that interest him, the research, making new friends, and learning about the history of the world, old and new. Outside of Model UN Uri enjoys producing music, reading books, doing school work for his college classes, taking care of his plants, and watching many many TV shows.

Ariana Khan

Under-Secretary General

Ariana is a Junior at d.tech and has been on the Model UN team since her Freshman year. She loves Model UN because you get to discuss fascinating topics and meet interesting people. At d.mun II, Ariana will be co-chairing the Hunger Games committee along with her best friend. She loved the Hunger Games books from a young age and is super excited to chair a committee about them. When shes not in Model UN, Ariana enjoys volleyball, playing guitar, listening to music, and matcha.

Our Advisor: Kam O'Horo

As the advisor for the d.tech Model UN team for the past five years, she is passionate about fostering critical thinking skills, diplomacy ideals, and global awareness among young leaders. Outside of MUN, she enjoys family time anywhere, cooking, eating, and quality TV time on the couch. She is thrilled to be supporting the team in their efforts to present the best middle school conference in the Bay Area!

Nasida Babayeva

Logistics Director

Nasida Babayeva is a senior at Design Tech High School and has been an active member of the Model United Nations program for the past 4 years. She has participated in conferences as both a delegate and a chair, with a strong focus on research, public speaking, and crisis strategy. Beyond Model UN, she spends her time doing schoolwork, playing chess, planning a TEDx conference, and likes spending time with her friends in her free time. Nasida is looking forward to her third time at d.mun!

Aykhan Azizaliyev

Logistics Director

Aykhan Azizaliyev is a Junior at Design Tech High School, currently serving as the Logistics Director for the team. Having joined MUN as a freshman, Aykhan is passionate about researching global issues, participating in conferences, and writing position papers. Beyond MUN, Aykhan enjoys running, baking, reading, playing badminton, road-tripping, and exploring new experiences.

Sophie is a Senior and has been doing Model UN for 7 years. For d.mun she will be Head of Crisis. Her favorite parts of MUN are public speaking and learning about different global issues. Outside of MUN Sophie enjoys playing volleyball and baking.

Elinor Bither

Elinor Bither is a Senior at Design Tech High School. She is a returning member from last year and is excited to be part of the leadership team. This year she is hoping to strengthen her public speaking skills in MUN. In her free time she likes to go on runs, hanging out with friends, and ski. Elinor is looking forward to another great year of MUN.

Alex Peterson

Alex Peterson is a sophmore at design tech high school. It is Alex's first year in model UN and he is excited to improve. Alex's favorite part of model UN is going to conferences and watching (and delivering!) the interesting speeches. Outside of Model UN Alex enjoys fencing, reading, listening to music and playing piano.

Xander Caspi

Xander is a freshman at design tech high school. I enjoy geography and history along with video games. I am part of the robotics and model UN at school and lead a Card games club.

Viyona Kotecha

Viyona Kotecha is a freshman at d.tech, and this is her first year on the Model UN team. She came with a little bit of experience, participating in d.mun I and II in 7th and 8th grade. Viyona enjoys MUN because she gets to explore viewpoints of countries around the world and collaborate with people to find solutions. Outside of MUN, Viyona does robotics and cross country/track. In her free time, she is an avid Spotify listener and enjoys reading, playing video games, and exploring with her friends.

Oliver Sarmiento

Oliver Sarmiento is a 10th grader at Dtech, and is currently in his 1st year at Model UN. He likes building his skills such as public speaking, collaboration, and researching interesting topics, and making friends in Model UN. of Model UN, he enjoys researching military history, taking care of his 4 hens, and making model planes and ships.

Andrew

Andrew is a freshman at DesignTech Highschool. He enjoys public speaking, making new friends, socializing, and playing basketball for school. Andrew loves the community at DMUN, and the fun that they have at conferences.

My name is Idhant Kompella. I am a freshman attending D.tech. I enjoy gaming, books, and coding. I'm excited to work with you all!

Akash Rangaswamy

Akash Rangaswamy is a freshman at Design Tech High School and this is his first year on the Model UN team. He's excited for his first d.mun this year! Akash enjoys doing deep research into sensitive topics, and finding varied opinions and positions on it from the stakeholders involved. Outside of Model UN, he enjoys sailing, robotics, and listening to music.

Sebastian Lin

Sebastian Lin is a senior at Dtech with one year of experience in Model United Nations. He enjoys the creative side of Model UN, finding solutions and policy actions for world problems. He participated in two General Assembly conferences. Sebastian is passionate about human rights, climate change, and the necessity for compromises.

Audrey

Audrey is a freshman in Design Tech High School and in her first year of Model UN! Audrey really enjoys sports, gaming, hanging out with friends, and being a part of the Design Tech community. She really enjoys the conference part of Model UN where she can collaborate with other people that are trying to solve the same issue as her.

Arya Namperumal

Arya Namperumal is a freshman in Design Tech High School, and just joined MUN. They enjoy writing position and solution papers in MUN, in addition to the public speaking. They also enjoy learning about different international relations. This year, they are helping with logistics for d.mun! Outside of MUN, they like to read and debate with their Dad (similar to MUN).

Nikolay Nazarov

Nikolay Nazarov is a Senior in High School. This is his second year doing Model UN. He enjoys having fun and participating in meetings. Outside of Model UN he likes to play chess, tennis, and learn about history

Jack Yoshikawa

This is Jack, a 9th grade student at Design Tech High school. Jack does math, robotics, and model UN but hates writing in the third person. Jack is very excited about being one of your crisis staffers. This is Jack's second year of model UN.

Simran Rangaswamy

Simran Rangaswamy is a freshman at Design Tech High School, and joined Model UN for the first time this year. She enjoys Model UN because you get to have discussions with a wide variety of people on a rainbow of issues, as well as make new friends. Outside of MUN, Simran enjoys reading and ice skating.
