d.mun's general policy is "unmod tech." While in committee, delegates can use technology (laptops, tablets, etc.) to draft resolutions and work collaboratively. d.mun understands the benefits that technology brings to the committee but does not want tech to detract from committee experience.
Specific use of technology during committee is subject to chair's discretion.
We recommend that all delegates bring a laptop to write resolutions, however we understand if this is not possible.
d.mun is an opportunity for delegates to learn more about international relations as well as collaboration, public speaking, teamwork, and diplomacy, and d.mun would like to reward delegates who have demonstrated exceptional behavior in each one of these areas. Awards will be given at the closing ceremony by the chairs of each committee.
Delegates who turn in position papers are eligible to win Honorable Mention, Outstanding Delegate, Best Delegate, and a Research Award. Delegates are evaluated by their chairs and the awards are a reflection of their work for the entirety of the conference.
Delegates are awarded based on the quality of their position papers, their amendments, resolutions, and proposed solutions in committee, the accuracy of their country's policies, their diplomacy and ability to work with other delegations, their persuasive speaking skills, and their response to updates in committees.
d.mun has a strict zero-tolerance plagiarism policy and AI policy. Position papers will be diligently checked for plagiarism and AI using various software. If plagiarism or AI is detected, the delegates responsible will:
Not be eligible for any d.mun awards
Be banned from future d.mun conferences
Have their academic dishonesty reported to their educational institution
If a delegation has multiple offenses the entire school delegation will be banned from all future d.mun conferences.
All resolutions must be written while the committee is in session. Resolutions are meant to be a collaborative effort, including the views of multiple delegations. Any resolutions found to have been written out of session will not be accepted and any sponsors or signatories responsible will be penalized.
