This General Assembly committee focuses on the governance and ethics of Artificial Intelligence. AI offers major opportunities, such as improving healthcare, supporting education, and optimizing transportation systems, but it also raises serious ethical, environmental, and social concerns. Large-scale AI systems consume significant energy and resources, and without regulation, AI can deepen inequality and be misused by powerful actors.
Delegates will represent their country’s views on AI development, its impacts within their nation, and the role of international cooperation in regulating AI responsibly. The committee will explore how AI can be used for global good while setting ethical and environmental limits to prevent harm, including discussions on its use in areas such as education and public decision-making.
