Australian National University (ANU) Discovery Day in India

Competitions & Extracurricular Opportunities

Lumiere Scholars Essay Award

The Lumiere Scholars Essay Award is an essay competition open to high school students (grades 9 to 12) worldwide. Winners share more than $11,000 in cash prizes and scholarships to do independent research with a PhD mentor. Prompts come from professors at Cambridge, Brown, Dartmouth, and Duke.

25 October 2026 - Early registration deadline. 

30 November 2026 - Final registration deadline. 

20 December 2026 - Essay submission deadline.

Young Creators League

Students gain more than technical skills. YCL builds creative problem-solving, design thinking, teamwork, critical thinking, and the confidence to turn an idea into something real, backed by design thinking frameworks and technical bootcamps on micro:bit, Arduino-ESP32, 3D design and app development.

Teams of 3 to 4 students can register until 30 October 2026.
