What does it mean to volunteer? Why would Drew require you volunteer for 100 hours during your high school career?
Volunteering means offering to do something willingly without expecting payment in return. It's all about helping others and making a postitive impact on your community or a cause you care about. Drew requires their students to volunteer for 100 hours during their highschool career because its a good way to give back to their community and to put their time, skills, and energy to support various organizations or indivduals in need. As apart of my community service hours and for fun I am the girls varsity basketball manager. This positon allows me to create different bonds with different girls and understand basketball more and the terms to it. Although I know I cant play basketball being a manager for them is just as fun! I also help my brother out with his non profit every once and a while when he goes out and feeds and clothes the homeless. Thi spicture on the right was taken on saturday may 11th 2024.
During my 11th grade year I participated in my first Breakfast with the Board. I enjoyed this experience so much because it gave me insight on how it works behind the scene and who actually works behind the scene. This allowed me to see all the wonderful things they actually do and take into consideration.
