For this project, I graphed the given equation using Desmos. I included the asymptotes as dashed lines and wrote them as equations on the graph. Then, I compiled all of the graphics, labels, mathematical statements, and phrases onto a single page using Canva. I made sure to label all of the important parts of the graph, such as intercepts, vertices, and asymptotes. I also scattered accurate mathematical statements and phrases around the image to describe the graph and its features. Finally, I added icons, symbols, and stickers to make the presentation visually engaging while keeping the mathematical notation precise and correct.
For this project, I worked with Sydney, and we created a detailed itinerary and expense tracker for a trip to Tokyo, including the exchange rates for the country we were visiting. We listed prices in the local currency where appropriate and converted them to U.S. dollars. We calculated the total cost of the trip in both the foreign currency and U.S. dollars to provide a clear overview of expenses. Finally, we designed a poster/travel brochure that showcased the itinerary, budget, and key details of the trip in a visually engaging way. This project helped us practice planning, budgeting, and presenting information clearly while incorporating real-world financial skills.
For this project, I researched the layers of Earth’s atmosphere and created an informative slideshow using Google Slides to present my findings. I included details about each layer, such as its composition, temperature, and role in Earth’s climate and environment. I organized the information clearly with visuals, labels, and accurate scientific terminology to make the slideshow both educational and engaging. This project helped me strengthen my understanding of the atmosphere and how its layers interact with one another.
For this project, I will create a research paper and a slideshow about Urbanization and Runoff: How cities change land cover and affect water quality. The research paper will explain how urban development replaces natural land with roads, buildings, and parking lots, which increases stormwater runoff and pollution in nearby water sources. It will also discuss environmental impacts such as flooding, water contamination, and habitat loss, along with sustainable solutions like green infrastructure and better city planning. The slideshow will summarize these key points using visuals, data, and a local case study to help explain the topic clearly to the class.
This year at Drew, I ran for the title Twelfth Grade Representative for Homecoming Court & won. This opportunity provided me many friendships and experiences. My involvement in the Court has strengthened my leadership, communication, and advocacy skills. As a representative of my peers, I have worked to amplify student voices, contribute to school-wide initiatives, and help foster a positive and inclusive school environment. Through collaboration, event planning, and active participation in decision making, I have developed a deeper understanding of leadership and the importance of serving my community with purpose and responsibility.
