We were assigned to make a trash bag float. The record at drew is 18 seconds which none of us broke sadly.
3/1 Art
Modernist art which started in the 18th century around the 1860's artist began to paint and draw abstract ideas from they're own perspectives and imagination. I understand this by just showing what I have done in art class like what we did yesterday basically trying to determine what we thought different genres of music looked like. It relates to different arts by using the same colors and shapes. It relates to math by using lines of symmetry. Data can be used to create abstract art by making animations, charts, graphs and algorithims. To be honest I think when it comes to me i'd rather work more based on data art work because when I draw things that come to mind it's not really the best.
What is Borax? Borax is a salt, a hydrated or anhydrous borate of sodium. What chemical elements or compounds are in it? Borax is a compound consisting of an elementary substance called boron, united with oxygen and soda. Why do you use hot water? Were using hot water so when the water cools down the borax turns into a crystal also using hot water allows more room for borax making it supersaturated. What happens as the water cools? The borax starts turning into a crystal. How is your 3D sculpture dynamic? My sculpture is dynamic by the curves and the different colored pipes and I also attempted to try and make a nike sign.

Art 11/3/23
This year in art I have been told about the different perspectives and it collides with my ap class(ap computer science) we use user inputs and that is just one way of showing perspective. The principles of design were used in our last project that was collaborated with both world history and chemistry the mandala's used the principle of design by the variety and balance of colors that were on the mandalas. I try not to think of it as much and just get everything done because life moves on and time waits for nobody and if I dont complete the process of my work nobody will do it just do not overthink it. The Mona Lisa is the biggest historic piece of art ive ever seen in my life but the second piece of art that is worth a lot is the banana with the tape on it.
Today in Chemistry we had a lab and it consisted of using fire and q tips. We had 7 q tips with 7 different substances and we put each of them in the flame trying to determine what color each substance was also me and my group recorded and took pictures of the whole process. 3A Lab Activity Flame Test
Chemvas 10/24/23
It integrates with steam because throughout the project we used science, math/geometry, art and engineering. The main ideas used from each class was to make a mandala shaped out of 4 circles of what we think a mandala looks like in our perspective.
World History 10/23/23
Today in World History we started off with 15 minutes of membean and then we wrote a paragraph of what we think identity means and then we started reading the book "How the garcias girls lost their accents" and thats all we di.

Mandala Research
1.The mandala is used by In the Eastern religions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Shinto it is used as a map representing deities, or especially in the case of Shinto, paradises, kami or actual shrines. A mandala generally represents the spiritual journey, starting from outside to the inner core, through layers. 2. The Mandala is a symbol of the universe in its ideal form, and its creation signifies the transformation of a universe of suffering into one of joy. 3. I see variety for the principle of design. 4. The atoms are so small that they cannot be seen by the naked eyes and require a special microscope to make them visible and this can relate to mandala by using a microscope to see every single organism on the board where the mandela is being made.
9/20/23
Today in world literature we determined what laws were strict or were not as strict for Hammurabi's Code and then we labeled why we think if it was fair or not. Then we presented our play to group 2 and they presented theirs to us and we rated in 1-5 stars.
9/18/23
In today of world literature we did 15 minutes of membean. Then we worked on our poem and we finally finished it.
In todays class of world literature we started off with Membean then we watched a 10 minute video to give us a idea of how we should start our poem off and how it should be with proper grammar and how the scenes should be etc. Me and my group did pretty decent for the first day of writing we got about 7 lines and were going to continue to work on this till we are done.
Today in World literature we did a Plot Diagram off of a Youtube video we watched. It was explaining the differences of what goes on in the night and what goes on in the day. We also worked on some of our play we are supposed to be making today we are doing a play on china.
Today in World literature we started working on Ancient civilizations. We had the options to chose from several different civilizations and my group chose ancient china. We talked about the geography, religion, achievements, politics, economics and the society of China. Ancient Civilizations
Geometry in Architecture: Architects use geometry to study and divide space. They also use geometry in architecture to draft details into the building plans. Builders and engineers rely on geometric principles to create structures safely. Designers apply geometry (along with color and scale) to make the aesthetically pleasing spaces inside. Applying geometry in design is a unavoidable cause.
What are polynomials and how do we classify them, how do we add, subtract, and multiply them, and what real world scenarios do we explore while learning about polynomials.
What is a polynomial? A polynomial is a mathematical expression that contains two or more algebraic terms that are added, subtracted, or multiplied. The way you classify a polynomial is based on the number of terms present in the expression. To add polynomials line up like terms and then add the polynomials. To subtract Polynomials, first reverse the sign of each term we are subtracting the follow the pervious steps to add polynomials also. To multiply two polynomials each term of the second polynomial. Sine polynomials are used to describe curves pf various types, people use them in the real world to graph curves.
What "Art" means to you, and how can other subjects (science/english/history/math/etc.) be art?
Art is the expression of humans skill and they're imagination. What art specifically means to me is life. God made all of life a piece of art. If you ever just took the chance to look around and see what god has created in our lifetime you'll see what true art is. Art can be anything for example like just a water bottle sitting on a table at a random restaurant with a nice looking background in the back of the sky.
Video: Describe your house by heart. Check the example to emulate it. This is a speaking task targeting the standard 'Presentational Mode of Communication.' Use the same driving questions we have been working with in class:
➤¿Cómo es tu casa?
➤¿Cómo es tu familia?
➤¿Qué hay en…?
➤¿De qué color es…?
➤¿Dónde está…?
➤¿De qué tamaño es…?
Speak in complete sentences in Spanish. Retrieve and connect prior knowledge with new knowledge about your house and family. Remember that we have discussed how a house becomes a home because of the people and the things dear to you in there. Elaborate. Give as many details as possible in this presentation. Use your best Spanish. Use your brain power to activate and articulate your memory in Spanish.
These tasks are due this coming Friday, 2/3/23. Be ready to share and make your formal presentation in class.
6th grade students, individually, will request extra time if needed.
We respect your privacy. If this is an issue, please use the example video we watched in class.
Remember you can not be OFF in this video. I must be able to see you clearly speaking by heart in Spanish only, or your video will be invalidated.
9th Grade
Blueprint, Writing and Speaking Tasks: Each of these tasks stand for a separate grade in IC.
Create a QR code for your video presentation.
When describing and explaining your dream house, include all the parts, its interior and exterior views. Include as many details as possible, for example, furniture.
Be neat. Be clear. Be creative. Create an attractive blueprint.
Speaking and Writing Tasks: Be ready to discuss your design. Describe and explain it orally and in writing. Use natural language from the inside out. Evidence of exterior sources used will mean invalidation.
Driving questions: How is your dream house and why?
Check the attachment below listing the driving questions we have studied in class.
STEAM PORTFOLIO-La casa de tus sueños: Duplicate a picture of the color-coded-blueprint, a picture of the flyer including a QR code video, and your writing describing and explaining your design.
What I learned in unit 1 of geometry was the different polynomials, more about perimeter, and area. A degree of 0 is a constant, 1 is linear, 2 is quadratic, 3 is cubic, 4 is quartic, 5 is quintic, and 6+ does not have a label. Some of the term names we have is Monomial, Binomial, Trinomial, and Polynomial, 1 term is Mono, 2 is Bi, 3 is Tri, and Poly is 4+ terms. I also learned about the foil method. F-First O-outer I-Inner L-Last.
