Who are you outside of Drew?
Outside of Drew, I am a community serving athlete who has set high expectations for myself in absolutely everything I do. Even in my free time, I stay connected to what I love most, which is running track. Running keeps me steady in every way. It helps me stay mentally focused, emotionally balanced, and physically fit. It has even shaped my discipline and my confidence, and it continues to push me toward my goals.
A big part of my life also takes place at Bessie Branham Recreation Center. During the summer, I work as a Camp Counselor, but during the school year, I serve as a Teen Leader in their youth program. Through the Teen Leaders program, I have built relationships that feel like family. These are connections I plan to carry with me long after high school and even college. Bessie has taught me real life skills through hands on workshops and events with local vendors. I have learned things like shoe customization, tire changing, and even the basics of music production.
I also discovered a love for photography. Taking pictures has become something that relaxes me. It is interesting how a single photo can freeze a moment that would have passed in an instant. It feels like capturing time, even though time never slows down for anyone.
All of these experiences have shaped who I am becoming. They keep me grounded, motivated, and focused on growing as an athlete, a leader, and a future sports psychologist who wants to support others the same way I have been supported.
