In class I was assigned to make an empowerment fist based off of any activist of my choice. The Activist I chose were all black leaders such as Elijah Muhammad, Master Fard Muhammad, Minister Louis Farrakhan, Clara Muhammad, Muhammad Ali, Malcom X, and Rizza Islam. My empowerment fist represents the legacy and impact of these influential figures, all associated with the Nation of Islam and the broader movement for Black empowerment. The collage features historical images, powerful quotes, and symbols that reflect their dedication to self-reliance, education, civil rights, and social justice. The fist itself symbolizes strength, unity, and resilience in the face of adversity.
In APUSH I was assigned to create a 1 pager based off any topic we learned in in the class. I decided to choose my favorite topic which was topic 8. I named my 1 pager "LA 8TH REVOLUTIONARY MOVEMENT". Topic 8 in APUSH covers the Cold War and post-World War II America. I highlighted key events like the Truman Doctrine, Sputnik, EPA, The Cuban Missile Crisis, and even the Civil Rights Movement. I also Include pictures for each topic I wrote about.
My presentation is on the invention and impact of steamboats, pin pointing Robert Fulton, who is credited with creating the first commercially successful steamboat, The Clermont, in 1807. Steamboats, powered by steam engines and paddle wheels, revolutionized water transportation in the 19th century, playing a vital role in the Transportation Revolution alongside railroads and canals. The presentation contrasts steamboats’ historical significance with their modern decline, as trains and boats powered by motorized propellers have replaced them.
