My final year in high school. At the time of writing this, we are still playing and have made it to the playoffs. Captaining the team this year has been incredible as any subconscious mental blocks from not being a senior during my junior year has gone a way with seniority. I've been able to think about the impact I leave behind on the team and how I can build up the soccer program at Drew as a whole. We will have to see how far we go this year, but I will miss it.
This season as a junior I took on the role as captain and lead the team to the state playoffs round of sixteen. I would go on to win the Coach's Award at the end of the season for my leadership within the team on and off the pitch.
This season we made it all the way to the State Finals for the first time in the team's history. This season I established myself as a midfielder after some moving around positions during my freshmen year on the team.
My first year on Varsity and my first year playing high school soccer. This was a season a bit out of the ordinary due to covid. We had a great deal of players who did not play because of the Covid risk of a physical sport like soccer. However, it served as a great adjustment to the more rigourous nature of highschool soccer compared the what I faced in middle school.
