I recorded my process of baking brownies with the mix. Personally, I have never made brownies before, so this fit my requirement of making something that I haven't tried making before. The brownies came out fine and they tasted good. For the next part of the assignment, I listed the ingredients that I used in Spanish.
I chose to make brownies because it seemed like a fail-safe due to my inexperience with baking. Another reason is that brownies are delicious. While making the mix, if I would've known how little I had made, I would have used a smaller pan instead of transferring it from the larger one. I learned from this experience that it is important to always double check your instructions so that you are following everything correctly.
This is a Spanish version of the game Hedbanz. The player holds the card in front of them, with the back of it facing them. You can ask "yes" or "no" questions to figure out what you are, but there are many different cards. You could either be an action verb or a noun. When you believe you have the correct answer, you answer with "I (action)" or "I am a (noun)". This is how you win.
Our group decided to base this card game off of Hedbanz because it is a very fun game. We didn't have the correct headbands for this game, so that is why the player instead holds the card in front of them. If it was on your head with a proper headband, everyone would see it but you. Next time, to make the game easier, there should be different genres like in Charades.
This project was about pretending you were in a Spanish-speaking restaurant and acting out the situation(with a script of course). The roles were either the waiter or one of two customers. Previous to writing the script, our group first had to research an existing restaurant that was in a Spanish-speaking country. We chose the restaurant Paladar La Cocina de Lilliam located in Havana, Cuba. Then, we wrote down a few of the menu options that included appetizers, main meals, desserts, and drinks, along with their estimated prices in Cuban pesos. Next, we wrote a script that answered the statements given to us by our teacher. Due to the fact that we had never done this type of project before, we had to look at videos that showed how to order food in Spanish and write what they said.
Pobre Ana is a story about a girl named Ana that is experiencing an unfortunate life. She has a normal family with a mom, dad, brother, and sister. However, she has many problems.
Her mother yells at Ana for almost everything that she does. Her dad is poor and she wants money to buy new clothes from name brand stores and food from restaurants, but she cannot. Her brother never helps her with tasks but laughs instead. Her sister steals her clothes without asking and doesn't tell Ana what she has done.
During school, her Spanish teacher offers her a chance to travel to Mexico free of charge. Ana takes the offer and flies to Mexico with her limited Spanish skills. Even though Ana experiences a few unfortunate events, through this experience she learns to appreciate her life and her family back home.
