My Personal Statement
My Personal Statement
While writing my personal essay, I struggled to figure out what to write about. But with the help of my parents and my College and Next Step Counselors, I was able to figure out a topic and create one of my best essays (in my opinion!!!).
I chose to write about my transformation from being an introvert as a child to an outspoken teen going to college. I was able to reflect on when the shift actually happened and how it happened.
This essay really showed me how much I have changed and the positive impact that one event had on me.
I plan on attending the #1-ranked HBCU in America, Spelman College. While at Spelman, I will major in Biology on a Pre-Med track to either become an anesthesiologist or the lead sports physician for a team in the National Basketball Association.
Through hands-on labs, research opportunities, and mentorship from professors, I will build a strong foundation in the sciences while also developing the discipline and resilience required in the medical field. Additionally, being surrounded by like-minded women who are driven to succeed will push me to continuously strive for excellence.
By taking advantage of Spelman’s resources and pre-med support systems, I will be well-equipped to take the MCAT and pursue admission into a top medical school. Ultimately, my goal is to combine my passion for medicine and athletics to make a meaningful impact.
I had a great time at the Kindergarten Walk! This is my kindergarten, James. I was able to make him a poster with all the things he likes on it and give him a gift. I was excited to find out that the poster I made is hanging in his room now.
This is James and me on the playground on the day of our Valentine's Day meet-up. I was able to play on the playground with him after giving him a special Valentine's Day gift!
