Work
I have always been creative, and loved drawing and making movies at home. I took art class in 6th grade and 7th grade. I really liked the art class because making art really calmed me down and let my creativity come out. Even though I really enjoyed my years of art, I just knew I belonged in theater. I would always randomly act by myself in my room, pretending I was in a movie. I also love watching movies and making my own short films at home with some friends. Therefore, I decided to take the theater class in 8th grade and got to be in the ensemble for The Wiz. After taking theater, I really loved it and chose to take it as my pathway because I felt like it helped me talk and interact with people more. I also like to try different things and it feels like I do that as an actor. This led me to wanting to take theater my 9th grade year but sadly my schedule got messed up and I was put in technical theater instead. I was pretty upset that I didn't get to take theater, but it actually wasn't that bad, and I learned quite a lot. Even though I didn't get to take theater, I still started my career of acting. I was desperate to act so with the help of my mom I decided to make an account on an acting website called "Kids casting." About a month later I got an email from a director, and I auditioned for the lead role in his short film. Sadly, I did not get the lead role, but I did get a supporting role, and I was very happy about that. After the film was done shooting there was a premiere at a movie theater and that was an amazing experience. It was also in a film festival which helped me sign wtih an agent. 10th grade finally came and I was finally in theater again. We did some really fun performances and activities. We also did some workshops towards the end of the year to prepare for next year's musical auditions. To get film set experience I was an extra in 2 different TV series, DTF St Louis and The Good Daughter. Look for me on the screen!
Sports
In 5th grade I really wanted to run so I decided to join a track team at my local park but it was shut down by Covid. In the fall of 6th grade I joined the virtual cross country team and liked it. That Spring I started running track for Atlanta track club. As much as I wanted to be a sprinter, it just wasn't for me. So when school was back after Covid I joined the lRL cross country team in 7th grade and ran some distance events for track. I really like the cross country team and noticed that distance runs decrease my stress level. When I got to High School, I pushed myself even more. My 5k time was just over 24 minutes in early 9th grade and down to 20 min by the end of the 10th grade season. I've been one of the fastest runners on the team and pushed hard during each practice. In 10th grade I was asked to lead as Captain. I've worked hard in Track as well. My mile was just over 6 minutes in early 9th grade and is now 5:22. This year I was given the Coach's choice award at the ESPY's for my hard work.
