Labs
The objective of this lab was to practice utilizing the scientific method to conduct scientific investigations and analyze/process data. For this lab we were asked how increasing the mass of a paper airplane affect the distance it travels. To answer this question, we had to make a paper airplane and add 2 paperclips to both wings after each throw and see the changes.
The objective of this lab was to see which brand of dishsoap makes the biggest bubbles. For this lab we first made our hypothesis of which brand we think will make the biggest bubble. I thought Dawn would make the biggest bubble. Then we added different chemicals and soap brands to see which makes the biggest bubble. I ended up being wrong because Palmo was bigger.
Projects
This is the Bohr model project. For this project we had to create a paper plate showing our element and the electrons orbiting around the nucleus.
This is the History of the Periodic Table project. For this project we had to create a text chat between two scientists arguing about how the periodic table should be organized. We had to include what would be talked about and how the conversation would go.
This is the Element Art project. For this project we had to make a drawing that includes the element we were given. My element was lead so I drew a room with a table holding some art and a paint bucket. There is a paint bucket because lead is in paint.
CER
How might cultural and historical contexts have shaped scientific discoveries in making the periodic table?
Cultural and historical contexts shaped the periodic table through influences from scientific revolutions, key figures like Mendeleev, societal attitudes towards classification, technological advancements, and international collaboration among scientists.
