Getting Ready for the SDG Club Activities
Delhi Public School Lava, Nagpur, is a member of the Global School Programme that recently launched its online toolkit for its members and all Advocate Alumni.
The topic of the toolkit was “From Commitment to Action: Integrating Sustainable Development into National Education Priorities. A Practical Guide for Policymakers, Practitioners, and Researchers.”
President UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and several other eminent personalities from the World Education bodies attended the webinar.
Educational communities need to identify locally relevant issues, skills, values, and behaviours central to sustainable development and then integrate Education for Sustainable Development into the national curriculum. However, this process is complex because every education system has its own set of standards, policies, and curriculum goals.
Hence the Global Schools Programme (GSP) worked with experts to create a comprehensive online toolkit that supports practitioners, policymakers, and researchers and locally relevant curricula on sustainable development and integrating their curricula into national priorities.
Based on the outcomes of a research pilot project conducted in Ghana, Turkey, and Morocco, GSP designed a guide for analysing policy and curriculum documents against sustainable development themes and then adapted or created new ESD curricula based on those outcomes.
Ms Shahnaaz Ojha, Advocate Alumni, attended the webinar on behalf of the school.

DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL LAVA UNDERTAKES LEGO MINI MISSION CHALLENGE
Lego Mini Mission has collaborated with Climate Action Schools to provide a challenge to its student members. They have been challenging the students to make sustainable homes and look for methods to clean ocean waste.
Delhi Public School Lava, a Climate Sction School has always been forthcoming in participating in the various projects assigned to them. Recently our students participated in building a cafeteria which is sustainable and provides only organic, healthy food using eco-friendly utensils and cutlery.
The aim of the project was to use Lego blocks to make models to show how one’s school could be sustainable and impact the environment.
The model made by the SDGs Club members was well appreciated.
