MODEL UNITED NATIONS - MUN 2023
DPS NASIK MAY 2023
11 students from DPS Lava, Nagpur participated in DPSN-MUN 2023 organized by DPS Nashik. Delhi Public School Nashik's Model United Nations, DPSN-MUN 2023 is an engaging and dynamic student-led event that aims to foster global awareness, critical thinking, and diplomacy among participants. The mission was to provide a platform for students to develop their leadership skills, enhance their understanding of international relations, and engage in meaningful discussions on global issues.
We, at DPS Nasik, Varanasi and Lava, strive to promote a culture of tolerance, inclusivity, and respect for diverse perspectives, while encouraging our participants to become active global citizens.
It's fantastic that 8 out of the 11 students won prizes in various categories. Winning prizes not only recognizes their individual achievements it also reflects the dedication and hard work they put into their respective areas of competition. Participating in events like this offers numerous benefits to students. Learning public speaking skills, creating strategies, researching topics, and participating in debates is all valuable experience that can enhance their personal and academic growth. Moreover, developing teamwork skills and making friends from different schools adds a social aspect to their learning, enabling them to build connections and broaden their perspectives. The overall experience for students was really good and of course, they are looking forward to participating in more such events in the future.

Unveiling the Charms of Nashik: A Memorable Experience with Friends
The city of Nashik, nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Maharashtra, played host to an unforgettable experience that I embarked upon with my dear friends. An opportunity to attend a DPSN-MUN in Nashik not only gave us exposure but also boosted our confidence and social skills.
As soon as we stepped into Nashik, we were served the world-famous “MISAL PAV”. Soon after our breakfast, we were escorted to our hotel which was just as lavish.
We got dressed in our dashing formals and reached DPS Nashik.
Everybody seemed so enthusiastic and amiable there. We were introduced to our respective committee chairs and fellow delegates. We started off with a General Speakers’ list and ended the day with a Caucus.
The best part about the trip was the socials. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Nashik transformed into a vibrant hub of nightlife. The music filled the air, igniting our spirits as we danced and celebrated the joy of being together. The energy and camaraderie of the night brought us closer, solidifying the bonds of friendship and creating memories that would forever be etched in our hearts. We stayed up late at night preparing for the next day.
The last day was a very important one. We had to be at our best, proposing ideal resolutions and statements. We were quite confident with the ideas we prosed.
Soon everything was winding up, it was all getting over.
We were anxious and excited at the same time as it was time for the prize distribution. I was given the SPECIAL MENTION by the UNHCR chairs.
Soon after, we departed for Nagpur.
Above all, the experience allowed us to strengthen the bonds of friendship, creating an everlasting connection woven with laughter, joy, and shared experiences. Nashik will forever remain in our hearts as a testament to the power of exploration, friendship, and the beauty that lies beyond our comfort zones.

A Reflection
The MUN experience was a rollercoaster ride filled with emotions -from uncertainty to recognition. From biting my nails anxiously to walking the stage with pride, is an experience that I will always cherish. Being a part of the All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM) committee, got me to explore deeply into political-international matters, and I must say, my experience aligned perfectly with my interests.
From the moment I stepped into the committee room, I was captivated by the passion that filled the air. The discussions were intense, thought-provoking, and often heated, but the exchanges of ideas among the members made the MUN experience so intriguing. A platform where I engaged involved fitting into the shoes of a political leader, stimulating debates & learn from those who shared a similar passion as me for politics and international affairs.
However, MUN was not just about the committee sessions. The Socials' Night, gave us a delightful time to unwind and set the perfect mood for an enjoyable evening with fellow mates and other committee members. It was a much-needed opportunity to encourage delegates to let loose and dance the night away to recharge after long and intense committee sessions.
My journey ended with receiving recognition as a ‘Special Mention’ in my committee at MUN. This, I believe, is a reflection of the constant support & guidance of my parents, faculty members, organizers, and co-mates.
This experience has undoubtedly carved me into a more confident and eloquent youngster as it pushed me out of my comfort zone and widened my perspective to bring a difference in every way possible!
