A MEssage From Mr. Young

The staff and I hope this newsletter finds all of our North Salem families well.

We are already halfway through the first marking period of the school year. Throughout the first six weeks of school students learned about our school-wide rules and expectations and have settled into routines in their classrooms. The teaching staff has spent the beginning of the year collecting a variety of assessment data to assist them in making instructional decisions for all students. This data will allow teachers to differentiate instruction for students based off of their strengths and needs.

All families will soon be hearing from their child's teacher regarding Parent Conferences which are scheduled for Thursday, November 3 and Friday, November 4, 2022. This is an important time for families to hear about their child's progress. If you do not received any communication regarding scheduling a conference in the next several weeks, please contact your child's teacher or the North Salem Office.

You will notice that we have several Spirit Days planned for the month of October. This is a fun time for our students to build community as a school. I encourage all of our students to participate when able.

I look forward to the wonderful learning yet to come this school year. Please let me know if you ever have a question or concern by calling the school at 717-292-8071 or sending me an email at cyoung@doversd.org.
