March 2023

A MEssage From Mr. Young

Hello NSE Families!

Students and staff remain very busy as we close out winter and head into the spring. There are many great experiences being planned for the weeks and months ahead. On Monday, February 27 students and staff were treated to a preview performance of DAHS's presentation of High School Musical. It was wonderful to watch our students take in selections from this production. From February 27 through March 3 we celebrated Read Across America Week by taking a journey to 5 different national parks. We also hosted Cartoonist Duane Abel for an assembly on Thursday, March 2. Career Week is scheduled for March 6 through March 10 (additional information about Career Week can be found below). Teachers have been busily booking field trips for April and May. And we close the month with the end of the third marking period.

I want to take a moment to thank our PTO for the work they do to support our students and staff. This tireless group of individuals plans and implements our family fun nights, pays for grade level field trips, supports our staff with wonderful monthly treats, and hosts school events such as Fun Day at the end of the year. They are always looking for more parent volunteers. Those interested are encouraged to attend their monthly meetings on the fourth Tuesday of every month.

As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

On Monday, February 27, the cast of Dover High School's production of High School Musical visited North Salem and shared some of the songs from the show. The high school students did a great job. North Salem students and staff very much enjoyed their performance.
