A Message From Mr. Young
Greetings NSE Families,
North Salem Elementary staff is looking forward to the opportunity to meet with our students' parents and guardians at Parent Conferences on November 3 and 4. Ongoing home-school communication is an essential component in creating a learning environment that is supportive for each of our students. Thank you to all who have already scheduled a conference. If you have not yet been able to do so, please reach out to your child's teacher in order to see what openings they have in order to accommodate you.
The first marking period officially ended on Monday, October 31, 2022. Report cards will be accessible to families through the Skyward Portal on Tuesday, November 8. If you are having any issues with accessing your child's report card after 8 AM on November 8, please contact our school office.
Thank you to our PTO for hosting a fantastic Trunk or Treat on Wednesday, October 26. It was wonderful to see our students enjoying all the festivities that were planned. The PTO counted over 450 individuals who participated in this event. Thank you also to all of the families and staff who set up a trunk. There were many very creative ideas and it was fun to see all of the different themes.

We welcome Ms. Haley Jeszenka to our Third Grade team! Ms. Jeszenka will be teaching a third classroom, created due to high class sizes in the current third grade classrooms. She comes to us with teaching experience and will be beginning with DASD on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

END OF FIRST MARKING PERIOD:
The first marking period officially ends on Monday, October 31, 2022. Report cards will be posted to Skyward's Parent Portal on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 8:00 AM.
PROUD REWARD AND SOARING EAGLES:
Soaring Eagles for the first marking period will be announced on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.
The first marking period PROUD Reward will occur on Thursday, November 3.
The first marking period PROUD prize wheel will be spun on Thursday, November 3, 2022.
PICTURE RETAKE DAY:
Picture retakes are scheduled for Friday, November 18, 2022.
PTO MEETING:
North Salem's PTO will be meeting on Tuesday, November 29 at 6:30 PM in the Library.
THANKSGIVING BREAK:
School will be closed from Wednesday, November 23 through Monday, November 28, 2022. School will reopen on Tuesday, November 29, 2022.
