This part of the Google Classroom Guide is here to show you how to join a Classroom as a student; you can do this whether you are a staff member or a student at Doncaster College and University Centre!
How to join
There are two main ways to join a class as a student. The first way is to have somebody who is a teacher on that class invite you to be a student and the second way is to input the unique class code. This is the way that will be explained in this guide.
obtaining the 'class code'
To join a class as a student this way you would need someone who is a teacher on the class to give you the code. The teachers of Classrooms can find the 'Class Code' in the 'About' section within the class itself which is located in the right of the screen above 'Select theme' and 'Upload photo'. This can be seen in the screenshot attached to this text.
Inputting the 'Class Code'
Once you have obtained the 'Class Code' from a teacher on that class, go to the Google Classroom homepage and you should see near the top right corner a '+' symbol. Click that symbol and select the 'Join class' option.
Joining
Once you have clicked 'Join class' a window like the screenshot next to this text will appear. Input the 'Class Code' you were given and click the join button. The class that you have just joined as a student will automatically load up.
