Bongo video assignments allow lecturers to build interactive video quizzes in their brightspace modules. Learners watch a video that you provide and , at different points on its timeline, respond to up to twenty embedded 'prompts'. These ‘prompts’ can be multiple-choice questions, or you can require students to record short video responses.

For the video itself, you can use any of the lectures that you’ve already recorded using Bongo Virtual Classroom, record directly into the quiz using your webcam and/or a screen-share, or upload an existing video file.

Questions can be weighted and you can use a rubric for grading if you wish. If you only use MCQ style questions, your video quiz can also be automatically graded. You can also force retakes on incorrectly answered MCQ's and use peer review to get students' to evaluate one another's' video responses

Interactive video assignments can motivate them to engage with learning material and challenge them to recall and reflect on pre-existing knowledge to understand, and possibly predict, outcomes. Including the peer review element mentioned above can also help learners to develop their abilities to critique, analyse and give constructive feedback.

1) You want to pre-record a lecture using Bongo Virtual Classroom or Screencast-o-matic. However, understanding the concepts or topics presented in this lecture is dependent on the students having reviewed and understood previous material. Consider including a few minutes of revision material at the beginning of pre-recorded lecture and embedding a series of MCQs that test knowledge and give the student immediate feedback, forcing retakes of any of the MCQs that were answered incorrectly.

- Click on ‘Assessment’ from the tool bar of your Brightspace module and choose ‘Video Assignments’
- Click the pink plus icon on the bottom right-hand side of the screen and choose ‘create interactive video assignment’
