To close the digital learning gap, we must make sure that students have access to technology and high-speed internet outside of school.
Devices are use consistently all across the school and the academic subjects.
At this time around 60% of our student are taking one Verizon device home and 100% of them are using devices in class.
Our student tech team conducted a students' workshop about Civics and Digital Citizenship
Digital Citizenship Lessons were developed by the district using Common Sense Media for use in our classes.
Students with devices requiring repairs or maintenance report to the media center and submit their devices for repair. Additionally, Genius Squad students do regular device maintenance checks and report to teachers' classrooms to provide 1:1 support during the school day.
Teachers assist to monitor device use and care and set classroom rules and expectations for device use. All students take devices home each day for use at home - no devices are stored in the school. This practice has allowed our students to continue their learning beyond the school day with many teachers using technology resources to curate materials and as a learning management system (Google Clasroom) or for homeworking and practice.
