Site/Assignment Information

The school Administrative Assistance/Specialist or the regular teacher should provide the following information appropriate to your assignment. Please bear in mind that occasionally the absence will be last-minute and these items may not always be prepared. It is a part of your job to deal with the situation if that is the case. however, if a particular site or teacher consistently does NOT provide you with what is needed (after your requests), contact the site principal and/or the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Services. You must always be made aware of emergency procedures and discipline procedures. If they are not provided, take it upon yourself to contact the principal for assistance.

As you can see, there is a great deal expected of you as a guest teacher and you have very little time to master it. As you become familiar with the schools, this will become easier. however, at first give yourself plenty of time to gain the control you will need to be successful. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS OF THE STAFF, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/SPECIALIST, PRINCIPAL OR OTHER TEACHERS.
