Reporting to School

You should report to school at the specific time indicated by Absence Management (usually 30 minutes prior to the start of school). If it is your first time working at a particular site, give yourself a little more time. (You'll need to ask questions regarding the particular school's policies, and time to become familiar with your new worksite.) Upon arrival, check-in with the school Administrative Assistant/Specialist. Identify yourself as a guest teacher, provide your name and the name of the absent teacher... DO NOT ASSUME THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/SPECIALIST KNOWS THIS. Sign-in on the school roster (if applicable), turn-in your timesheet, pick-up your keys and required materials from the school Administrative Assistant/Specialist. Check the absent teacher's mailbox for anything that might pertain to your day's assignment or might require action.

During minimum days, guest teachers CANNOT leave early. Guest teachers are required to work the entire contract time.

When covering an absence at a continuation school, guest teachers MUST work the entire contract time.
