In recent years, there has been a growing call for more streamlined and digital systems within the education sector. A 2023 UNESCO study revealed that over 70% of schools in the Asia-Pacific region have begun transitioning toward digital practices, with a strong emphasis on reducing paper use and increasing online accessibility. Traditional methods—such as manually submitting Daily Lesson Logs (DLLs), reports, and instructional materials—require significant time and effort, often limiting teachers’ ability to focus on instruction and student interaction.
In the Philippines, the Department of Education has acknowledged this need for modernization. Through its EdTech Unit, DepEd continues to advocate for digital innovations that aim to simplify workflows, promote sustainability, and ensure transparency. Still, many schools remain without a unified system for managing and storing teaching documents. As a result, teachers face repetitive documentation processes and excessive printing demands, which not only drain resources but also increase their workload.
Project STREAM, or Simplified Teacher Resource Entry, Archiving, and Management, addresses these persistent issues. It introduces a localized, school-level digital approach using cloud storage and a dedicated website to centralize the submission, storage, and retrieval of documents. This initiative supports a more efficient and organized documentation system while contributing to sustainable education goals. By minimizing reliance on paper and streamlining access to essential files, Project STREAM empowers teachers and enhances overall school operations.
